Webhooks troubleshooting
Start with Delivery history in the webhook's ⋮ menu — it shows every attempt, the status code and the first part of your system's reply.

"The URL must start with https://"Visitor details are only sent over an encrypted connection. Give your receiver an https:// address with a valid certificate.

"The URL must point to a public internet address" or "non-public address"CoReceptionist sends from the internet, so it can't reach localhost, .local names or private network addresses such as 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x. Expose the receiver through a public address — for example a cloud function, a reverse proxy or a tunnel service.

The test works but real check-ins don't arriveCheck that the webhook is switched on, that the event you expect (for example Visitor checked out) is ticked, and that you are looking at the right location — webhooks belong to one location. Employee badge-ins are not sent.

Deliveries show Retrying or FailedAny reply other than 2xx within 10 seconds counts as a failure. Fix the receiver and the remaining retries go through on their own (after 1 min, 5 min, 30 min, 2 h and 12 h). For anything that already failed, open Delivery history and choose Resend.

"A webhook endpoint was turned off" emailThe endpoint failed every delivery for 72 hours, or replied 410 Gone, so it was switched off. Fix the receiver, switch the webhook back on, and resend anything you need from Delivery history (kept for 14 days).

Signatures don't matchVerify against the raw request body exactly as received, before parsing or re-serialising the JSON, and use the current secret — replacing it invalidates the old one. See Verify webhook signatures.

photo_url is null or the link has expiredPhotos and ID scans are only sent when Include photos and ID scans is on for that webhook. Links work for one hour after each delivery — download the file in that time if you need to keep it.

The Webhooks page says it's a paid add-onThe add-on isn't turned on for this location yet. Contact your account manager or support@coreceptionist.co.
