Sound familiar?
Where warehouses lose track: the dock door

- A driver walks into the office looking for someone to sign the paperwork. The office stops, and nobody has recorded who the driver is or where they're headed.
- A carrier's driver arrives and nobody checks ID.CTPAT security criteria expect photo ID on arrival and a record of every visitor. A clipboard can't show either.
- A visitor wanders past the dock into the racking aisles.Forklifts don't stop for people who were never shown the walkways.
- The alarm sounds during a busy shift change.Drivers, contractors and visitors aren't on any list the warden can see.
How it's solved
Driver check-in, ID photos and safety rules — at the dock
Each of those moments has a check-in step that prevents it — set per visit type, so drivers, contractors, visitors and couriers each get the right one.
- A driver walks into the office looking for someone to sign the paperwork.Drivers check in without the officeDrivers pick their visit type at the kiosk, enter carrier and load details in custom fields, and the receiving team is notified.
- A carrier's driver arrives and nobody checks ID.Photo ID on arrival, on recordDrivers and visitors hold their ID to the kiosk camera; only the photo is kept with the visit, and a visitor badge prints.
- A visitor wanders past the dock into the racking aisles.Safety rules and escorts before the floorVisitors and contractors sign your site rules — or watch a short safety video — before check-in continues, and visit types that need an escort can't finish without one.
- The alarm sounds during a busy shift change.Everyone on site, on one listOpen the evacuation list from the kiosk to see everyone checked in, alert them by email and SMS, and mark people safe at roll call.
Regular drivers in one scanPermanent QR invites check regular carriers in with a single scan, and you choose how often they re-sign the site rules.
Watchlist screening when you need itCheck visitors against your own watchlist and the U.S. Consolidated Screening List, with matches held discreetly for review.

Questions, answered
What does CTPAT expect for visitors?CBP's CTPAT security criteria call for visitors to present photo identification on arrival for documentation, to be escorted, and to visibly display temporary identification. CoReceptionist captures an ID photo at check-in, enforces escorts per visit type, prints a visitor badge and keeps the record.
Can drivers check in without coming into the office?Yes. Put a kiosk at the driver entrance or dock office, or let drivers check in from their own phone by QR code. The receiving team is notified directly.
Can we capture trailer or load numbers?Yes. Add custom check-in fields — carrier, trailer, load or PO number — to the driver visit type, and they're saved with the visit and in exports.
Can contractors watch a safety video first?Yes. Add an induction video to the contractor visit type; it must be acknowledged before check-in continues, and you choose whether it can be skipped.
Who is on site during an evacuation?Open the evacuation list from the kiosk to see every driver, contractor and visitor checked in, alert them by email and SMS, and mark people safe at roll call.
